Quick Quickie EP10 (2003)

Available late 2003, the EP10 was the first of the range of electric QWW helicopter models and similar specification as the Quickie 15 but for brushless motors and a ten 'cell' battery.  Good performance with the brushless motors then available but very limited duration and it was still to be a couple of years before Lipo's would start to make a difference on flight times.

Available in two version; at $325 for the De-luxe with Carbon frames, full metal rotor head with thrust bearings plus autorotation and $225 for the Standard with G-10 Fibreglass frames, non-anodised head with plastic blade holders and NO autorotation; quite a saving considering the differences would not greatly affect the way the machine flew!!!

Basic dimensions, 32" long, 12" tall and 5.5" wide; designed for main blades of 440 to 480mm and tail blades 72 to 80mm in length plus standard white and black canopy.

If hard use was expected then it was recommended to fit the Quick heat sink for the Aveox motor.

 'Pro' version

By 2005, development in motor battery technology meant that no longer was it required to have high voltages in order to get a satisfactory performance for 3D flying; the table below shows the 2005 revised recommendations for motor/battery combinations as the high voltage setup had proved to be too much for the airframe.
