MIA Robin 280 (1999)

designed early in 1999 and based on the MIA Robin 350 electric free flight model, the Robin 280 weighs 7.5 ounces and can fly for a continuous 13 minutes on a 3 volt lithium metal cells.

The ROBIN 280 helicopter used independent motors to drive the main and tail rotors with each motor controlled by independent speed controllers thus making a very simple design with less mechanical parts. For this layout, a 2-channel mixing circuit was required so that as the main rotor speed increases the tail rotor speed also increases thus 'balancing' out the torque of the main rotor however, the tail rotor could also be controlled for rotation of the helicopter.

The helicopter was also available with "Feather Thin Cut" aircraft aluminium MIA PRO BLADES and BOOMS (kit comes with Black anodized blades and boom). These are the lightest and most efficient blades possible for a micro heli. Developed by Mario I. Arguello exclusively for micro helicopters. Also available in optional choice of beautiful and fun anodized colours (Gold, Turquoise, Magenta and Red). Blades are 10 inches long and available for both clockwise or counter-clockwise rotor rotation micro heli's, in general.

In 2000 the mechanics were revised for better design and also included wooded blades as an option instead of the original aluminium type.  After this, the model was made available in  a number of versions;
