  Vintage RC Helicopters - Spares

Below are suppliers or services I have used, had recommended or just found by chance and whilst I cannot be held responsible for the service you receive, if I have had bad service then it will not be included.....

E-Bay

Not much to say that anybody into helicopters does not already know.  Each country / continent has its specific 'market' so you also have access to international supplies of helicopters and spares.  Can be hit or miss and quality of description is very variable as one persons 'good' is another's 'crap'.  However, the vast majority of my purchases have been on E-bay either through the direct auction or from an E-bay seller and with transactions totally something like £40.000 pounds I have only had two bad transactions where what I got wasn't what I expected.  So, as the saying goes you pay yer money......

Forum Sales

Most forums have for sale / wanted sections and these can be target specific or general.  Haven't really found much in them personally though well known ones like RunRyder can be good to reach those who perhaps may have that final spare you need for a restoration (usually a main gear or a main shaft.....)

BMFA small ads (in the UK)

Again, most national bodies have a small ads section and I have made quite a few purchases from the UK's BMFA small ads.  Tend to be more reliable as the sellers and buyers are generally modellers themselves though again, like e-bay you have to watch what you are doing.

Ring Master (USA)

Frank Bowman.  1211 N Allen Ave.  Farmington, N.M. 87401-3568  US tel no 505-327-0696

If you have an old engine and need a piston ring then this is the place to go as he lists more engines than most people have had hot dinners.  Extremely good pricing (including shipping costs) and has a reputation of being as good or better than OEM.

RC HELICOPTER WORLD (USA)

Found this store whilst browsing the web.  Advertises spares for a number of makes of Vintage helicopters and even has for sale(Jan-09) an original Schlüter Cobra - mind you $1300 is the asking price + shipping !!!!!!!!

VINTAGE HELI PARTS (USA)

Reproduced copies of canopies, cooling shrouds, rotor blades, radio trays, decals etc; mainly for Schlüter/GMP machines but is adding to his listing all the time.  Genuine guy so give him your business......

MFA Model Flight Accessories (UK)

Has limited general spares for the Sport 500 series made by themselves many years ago.

Robs R/C heli Spares (UK)

New and Used spares for Kyosho Concepts and Nexus.  Additionally runs an internet shop with various other miscellaneous spares.

MIDLAND HELICOPTERS (UK)

What more needs saying; if its for a more modern helicopter (and limited old stuff) then this is THE place to go.  Excellent and quick service.

SKYLINE MODELS (UK)

Another of the 'big guns' offering good service and a wide manufacturer coverage.
