  ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Below are listed the contributors who have given permission to use copy under their control for the development of this web site: in no particular order.

Covers a number of past publications and especially Model Helicopter World (MHW); first published in 1988 and is Britain's longest running RC helicopter specialist magazine. Permission Traplet

RCM&E - Britain’s best-selling R/C model aircraft magazine; in the UK, RCM&E (along with Radio Modeller) was there at the birth of RC Helicopters. Permission RCM&E

RunRyder  - The 'worlds' premier helicopter forum and a wealth of 'history' where a lot of the site information has been gleaned.  The site is located in the public domain and as such I have used a significant amount of photo's etc in my web site either directly of modified.  Where I have used a significant amount of information from a number of the RunRyder Guru's such as Heli_headcase, jczabkl, tutelar-rc, v22chap, dkshema, just to name a few, I have sought direct permission however, those I have forgotten to mention (or ask) and used their stuff then I hope they don't mind (see general disclaimers).

Dieter Schlüter  - The 'grandfather' of RC helicopters and he has given permission for 'Verbatim' use of material from his many books etc.

Kirt Blattenberger  - Provided very useful early US magazine information and runs the "Airplanes and Rockets" web site - well worth a visit as full of a lot of historic information.

Dear Joe,

Yes that sounds absolutely fine. Please acknowledge the magazine with the following words wherever you use an article:

Reproduced with kind permission of RCM&E, Britain’s best-selling R/C model aircraft magazine – www.modelflying.co.uk

Personally, I’ve a keen interest in vintage model helicopters myself. I’ve just bought two MFA Sport 500s and plan to make one airworthy example from the two unused machines. Moreover, a few years ago I bought a Morley Bell 47 kit, untouched and bagged, that I plan to build and fly. I’m still looking for a Morley Hughes 300 kit (untouched) if you know anyone who has one? I used to own one back in the late ‘80s and wish I’d never sold it!

With every good wish

Graham

The main focus of the site as the name suggests is in 'Vintage' helicopters starting from their 'roots' onwards and though the site has only been going for a little over six months, it is starting to come together.  RC Helicopters are not what could be called 'main stream' collectors items and so research of older types is quite limited and generally involves magazine articles.

I have already received permission from the Helicopter specialist magazines to use their material but unfortunately they only started publishing in the late eighties; this is where RCM&E comes in as it was the premier magazine in the early period of RC helicopters.  Though I am lacking copies of the 70’s magazines, I have near enough every copy of RCM&E from the eighties and early nineties.  I am therefore writing to request permission to use magazine copy in developing my site.

I am looking to use copy from the 1980's and 90's magazines which would generally be review articles.  These would be used along with personal observation as I have many helicopters from the era, plus comments and reviews from other writers and owners who were around at that time.

The aspect of ‘vintage’ helicopters is poorly represented on the web and my site is an attempt to redress this situation.  The site is my own private site, wholly paid for by me and because of that there are NO commercial interests.  However, any article used will, of course, carry full acknowledgement of RCM&E copyright etc.  I will be producing a section that covers RC magazines and their input to RC helicopters and of course would include suitable links especially to your current RCM&E website.

I look forward to your reply.

Hi Joe

We can certainly work together by exchanging web links and the use of past MHW articles is ok as long as full acknowledgement of MHW copyright is made. In regards to taking this forward I will ask Claire Alley to get in touch with you who is MHWs Advertising Executive.

Kind regards
Tom

Dear Sir / Madam

Could you please forward this e mail to the person / department responsible for magazine copyright authorisation.

I am the owner / developer of a RC helicopter web site www.vrhc.co.uk <http://www.vrhc.co.uk>

The main focus of the site as the name suggests is in 'Vintage' helicopters starting from their 'roots' onwards and the site has only been going for a little over six months but is starting to come together.  RC Helicopters are not what could be called 'main stream' collectors items and so research of older types is quite limited and generally involves magazine articles.  This is where MHW comes in and as I have every copy of MHW from issue one I am therefore writing to request permission to use magazine copy in devoping my site.

The site is my own private site wholly paid for by me and is there because its something I want to do so there are NO commercial interests.  However, any article used will, of course, carry full acknowledgement of MHW copyright etc.  I would also think that a link to a suitable page on the site extolling MHW would also be appropriate, after all I have every copy which is a fair indication that I personally rate the magazine highly.  The information on this page would also include contact info for MHW or anything else that you would wish to see there.

I look forward to your reply.
