Vintage RC Helicopters - Joe's collection - Walkera

Joe's Walkera Collection  Joe William Richardson

Walkera 36 (05)

Purchased December 2005 and wouldn't hardly lift off with a 'brushed' motor and heavy blades.  Went OK with Zoom Fibre blades so used it for a while then upgraded to a brushless motor which proved to be much better.  The helicopter was used mainly for hover training and I eventually upgraded it to the metal head but the quality of the components was poor leading to erratic blade tracking.  Mind you, up to this point it has clocked up nearly 100 flights totalling nearly 18 hours so not bad for a 'cheapo' Walkera.

By Jul 09 it was getting impossible to get the tracking right so put into storage pending a future rebuild.

Walkera 36-2 (05)

Purchased in 08 and fitted out with trainer undercarriage.  test hovered to set up.

Walkera 36-3 (05)

Purchased in 08 and stripped down pending full rebuild.

Walkera 62 (07)

New kit and still to finish building.

'EX' Walkera Helicopters

Walkera 60 (06)

Jun 07  -  An upgraded 36 with ECCPM control system.  Built and test hovered plus figure of eights and proved to have reasonable control.  Sold on for someone else to learn with.
