Vintage RC Helicopters - Joe's Collection - JR Joe's Collection - JR Joe William Richardson JR JetRanger (Voyager 50E) (2004) Dec 07 - An E-bay purchase that was bought with a job lot of other bits and helicopters. When purchased the mechanics comprised of a standard 'glow' JR Voyager 50 converted to take a brushless out-runner motor. The head had been replaced with an Align T-rex 600 unit and was flying as a pod and boom helicopter. I removed the align head (in order to build the t-rex 600 as the rest of the kit came with it) and re-fitted the JR head. Apr 08 - After flight testing and fitting new blades plus the original JR paddles, I put it all back into the JetRanger fuselage. Goes extremely well and is very powerful with stable hovering and flight characteristics. May 09 - Fitted with double 6S flight batteries to give a total of 8 Amp hour and also fitted with a NiCad in parallel with the ESC for powering the radio equipment. I had suffered a couple of twitches during previous flights and this method is recommended by the ESC manufacturer as a 'stabiliser' for the radio gear in order to prevent voltage spikes during heavy load changes. JR Voyager E New kit (year 2000 version) along with fuselage for a 'squirrel'. Needs motor, esc and radio gear with intention to fit a brushless motor as this was an option from new.
