Vintage RC Helicopters - Joe's Collection - Bergen

Joe's Collection - Bergen  Joe William Richardson

Bergen Intrepid (60)

Purchased Jan 09 as a fully functional and set up machine for 3D flying.  Checked over and generally Ok but obviously had been trimmed on the Tx 'computer' and not mechanically aligned before setting up (a common 'fault' with modern builders). Has a YS pumped engine with three needle carb and no instructions so I had to surf the web in order to find a set.

Full mechanical checks completed in Oct 09 and a number of small adjustments made to line things up a little better. Started up and carb adjustments carried out then hovered with only a few 'clicks' of trim required.  General slow figure of eights etc to check controls and adjustments; appears very responsive but also stable; needed more space for further testing so put into deep storage.

Bergen Intrepid 46(x2)/60/90

Purchased a 'Job lot' in Jul 09 with what appears to be enough to build a 90, 60 and a 46 with nearly all parts for another 46.  Three of them are new part built kits and the 60 looks like it has been used but not too much.  They are the earlier 'full' side frame types and not the more modern 'stepped' frame version as my 'complete' 60 above; all were put into storage awaiting a future completion opportunity.
